Blessing Fire aka Bboychristyles: Breakdancer, choreographer, photographer.
A former member of the star studded dance crew INMATES winners of Undisputed Dance competition in Harare 2007 and the winners of the first Jibilika Festival in 2007 (hip hop category). An avid breakdancer who has taught a generation of dancers and performed at HIFA from 2008 to 2015 with different productions and shared the stage with two of the world dance champions Pokemon Crew from France in 2008, Last For One from Korean in 2009. An AFDIS award winner At Reps theatre in 2011.
Blessing Fire’s story can never be told in full without mentioning his moving and incredible story for a person born with a disability and wheelchair bound until in secondary school and defied all limitations to become one of Zimbabwe’s best ever dancer.
Christyles represented Zimbabwe with the national team at the Battle of the Year (BOTY) Africa in Cape Town S.A in 2009 and later won 1st position at Strictly Hip Hop Bboy Champions in Africa in Pretoria S.A and Zim’s Finest Dance Group 2011 with ZINA crew. In 2016 he took 3rd place at the at Africa Hip hop Indaba in South Africa.
Before his appointment as the Artistic Director at Jibilika Blessing has been heavily involved with community dance training, coordinating at theJibilika Urban Culture Centre. Last year he directed Broken Pavement by the 4Go10Tribe Dance Company a Jibilika production and performed in Mutare at the Jibilika Festival 9th anniversary and at Shoko festival 2016.
He is on of the success stories of Jibilika since inception and his ascendance to the position of creative director is befitting.
